Auckland Transport and NZ Police are working together over the Christmas 2019 and New Year holiday period to reduce the number of instances of drink-driving on Auckland roads.
Auckland is now a Vision Zero region. This means Auckland Transport (AT) is committed to a goal of no deaths or serious injuries on Tamaki Makaurau roads by 2050.
Given the likelihood that many Aucklanders will enjoy a few drinks after work on Friday 20 December (being the last day at work for many people) AT is offering free travel on most AT Metro services to provide a safe alternative to driving home. This means all the night buses on Friday will also be free.
If you plan to have “after work drinks” on December 20, then leave the car at home and let us get you home safely.
*This offer excludes Rakino, Waiheke and Great Barrier Island vehicle ferry services, Waiheke and Fullers tourist services and Skybus are all not included.
