Denbigh Ave, Mt Roskill - Clearway Denbigh Ave, Mt Roskill - Clearway

Consultation status: closed 23 June 2017

We are proposing to install a Clearway, 7am to 9am - Monday to Friday, on the northern side of Denbigh Avenue from the intersection with Mt Roskill Road to number 29 Denbigh Avenue.

Why the changes are needed

After investigation, it has been observed that this stretch of road is minimally used for parking in the mornings although it does have lengthy queues of eastbound traffic.

This proposal aims to improve congestion for all traffic, specifically improving access for left turning traffic i.e. buses, through retaining the roads width during the morning peak hours where traffic is at its worst.

The proposal received positive feedback with some concerns raised by respondents. After reviewing this feedback and all other supporting evidence, the proposal will proceed without changes to the next stage of detailed planning.

Specific feedback and proposed solution

  • Extend yellow lines further towards #15 to help visibility for traffic turning right out of Mt Roskill Road.
AT will take these comments on board, however it unfortunately falls out of scope for this project.
  • Request for additional works including Clearways for Stoddard and Carr Road.
If you would like your request to be considered by AT for future development works, please provide feedback here.

Next steps

We expect to introduce this work in the 2017/18 financial year (starting in July 2017), subject to any further changes in design or funding issues. Contractors will issue 48-hour notice to all affected residents prior to construction work.
