Consultation status: closed 30 April 2017
We are looking to extend the No stopping at all times restrictions (broken yellow lines) on Gabador Place, Mount Wellington.
Why the changes are needed
Cars are parking on both sides of the street and blocking the two-way flow, particularly for heavy goods vehicles.
The removal of parking where the road narrows will address this issue and improve accessibility for all vehicles.
Thank you everyone for your feedback.
The proposal received mixed feedback with some concerns raised by respondents. After reviewing this feedback and all other supporting evidence, the proposal will proceed without changes to the next stage of detailed planning.
Specific feedback and proposed solution
- Concern about the loss of staff parking. The proposed changes will reduce the amount of parking on the street, however we believe there will be adequate parking available after new restrictions have been installed.
- Suggestion to include road markings for the bus stops and retain the road markings opposite. The bus stops will be marked out to show their locations. All other existing road markings will be retained.
We expect to introduce this work throughout 2017/2018, subject to any further changes in design or funding issues. Contractors will issue 48-hour notice to all residents in the area prior to starting construction work.
