Consultation status: closed 14 December
We are seeking feedback on a proposal to extend the No stopping at all times extension restriction (broken yellow lines) outside 84 Mays Road in Onehunga.
When cars are parked on this section of road, vehicles coming out of driveways cannot see other traffic on the road properly. Extending the broken yellow lines beyond their current length will increase visibility and make it easier for vehicles to exit their driveways safely.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.
The proposal received mixed feedback with some concerns raised by respondents. After reviewing this feedback and all other supporting evidence, the proposal will proceed with changes to the next stage of detailed planning.
The changes to the proposal are:
- Limiting the No stopping at all times restrictions to between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday only.
Specific feedback and proposed solution
- Request that the No Stopping restrictions be extended to 80 Mays Road. We would like to retain as much resident parking as possible and our investigations have shown that vehicles parking outside these properties will reduce the speed of other drivers, leading to a safer road environment.
- Concerns about the loss of parking and proposal of having time restrictions in place for this area to allow residents to park during the evening and on weekends. We have now modified the proposal to allow parking during the evenings and weekends.
We expect to introduce this work by June 2017, subject to any further changes in design or funding issues. Contractors will issue a 48-hour notice to all residents in the area prior to starting construction work.
