Proposal reference: BYL-148
We will install Broken yellow lines at the end of Stuart Street.
Why the changes are needed
Due to the narrow width of the street, parked vehicles on both sides create difficulties for drivers trying to turn around at this location.
The proposal received positive feedback with some concerns raised by respondents. After reviewing this feedback and all other supporting evidence, the proposal will proceed without changes to the next stage of detailed planning.
Specific feedback and proposed solution
- Extend broken yellow lines, entirely down one side of the street. On-street parking is very valuable to residents and as Stuart St is wide enough to allow parking on both sides and still allow emergency vehicles to pass we will not be extending the broken yellow lines further down the street than what is proposed.
- Request that AT enforces the proposal once it goes ahead. If you see anyone parking illegally you can contact Parking Enforcement on (09) 355 3553.
We expect to introduce this work in the 2017/18 financial year, subject to any further changes in design or funding issues.
Contractors will issue 48-hour notice to all affected residents prior to construction work.
