Strike action scheduled for Monday 23 to Friday 27 April involving drivers for NZ Bus has been withdrawn by First Union and Tramways Union.

However, drivers will meet on Tuesday (24 April) to ratify the settlement to the dispute. This meeting means NZ Bus services will be cancelled after morning peak. Services on Tuesday will be disrupted between 9:30am and 2:30pm, some services immediately before or after this could also be affected.

Use the journey planner to plan an alternative trip, under advanced options select the service operator. Ensure Go West, Metrolink and North Star are not selected.

Bus services run by other operators are not affected and train and ferry services will run as usual on Tuesday.

Note: CityLink and InnerLink services will continue to operate during the disruption.

Waikare Road, Oneroa, Waiheke Island - Parking Change Waikare Road, Oneroa, Waiheke Island - Parking Change

Consultation status: closed 27 January 2017

We have received a request to consider a loading zone on Waikare Road, outside the Delight Café.

After investigating this request, we agree that such a parking restriction would be beneficial as there are no others in close proximity.

We are also taking this opportunity to capture a number of existing controls and to propose a short-term parking restriction on Waikare Road. This restriction will assist in encouraging parking availability and be helpful to local businesses and people requiring short-term parking.

We propose these changes to parking on Waikare Road:

  • No stopping at all times (broken yellow lines).
  • P120, Monday to Sunday, 8am to 6pm including public holidays.
  • P5 Loading Zone Goods Vehicles only, Monday to Sunday, 8am to 6pm including public holidays.
  • Taxi/Shuttles at all times.
  • Bus Stop.

The majority of respondents supported the proposal, however, a number of issues were raised. One of these was a request to remove the bus stop towards the junction with Ocean View Road.

AT agrees that this stop and the one on Ocean View Road could be replaced with a single stop outside the Citizens Advice Bureau on Ocean View Road and will consult on such a proposal.

The Waikare Road proposal is on hold while we consult on this amendment.
