We received a number of concerns from residents of Westwood Terrace, St Marys Bay about a potential increase
Concerns have also been raised regarding parking around the cul-de-sac restricting the ability of vehicles to manoeuvre safely.
- Installing P120 (
two hourlimit) parking outside 4 - 6 Westwood Terrace from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
- Installing No Stopping at all times restrictions (broken yellow lines) around the cul-de-sac.
The P120 parking zone will encourage some turnover of parking spaces, while broken yellow lines around the cul-de-sac will allow for safe vehicle movement at the end of the street.
Feedback received was largely opposed to this proposal, unless AT considered introducing a residential exemption permit scheme.
We do not feel that a residential parking scheme is appropriate for this single street and do not feel that Westwood Terrace fits within the existing St Mary's Bay parking zone.
Westwood Terrace would be more appropriate as part of a potential future Herne Bay parking scheme, but as we have no immediate plans to propose a parking zone for Herne Bay, we will not pursue the proposed changes on Westwood Terrace at this stage.
