Proposal reference: BYL-213
We propose to replace the existing white triangle road marking between the driveways of 3 and 5 Akoranga Drive with broken yellow lines (No stopping at all times restrictions).
Standard-sized vehicles frequently park illegally over the existing white triangle, causing visibility issues for vehicles entering and exiting 3 and 5 Akoranga Drive. Replacement of the white triangle with broken yellow lines is expected to dissuade this behaviour and to ultimately improve safety.
The proposal received positive feedback with some concerns raised by respondents. After reviewing this feedback and all other supporting evidence, the proposal will proceed with changes to the next stage of detailed planning. Please find a revised proposal drawing which includes extension of broken yellow lines through to bus stop no. 4231.
- Recommendation to extend broken yellow lines up to the bus stop (No. 4231). The revised plan includes the extension of broken yellow lines to the bus stop.
- Request to provide further cycling infrastructure along this stretch of Akoranga Drive. This request is currently out of scope for this proposal, which focuses on broken yellow lines on Akoranga Drive. If you would like your request to be considered by us for future development works, please provide feedback here.
We expect to introduce this work between July 2018 and June 2019, subject to further changes in design or funding issues.
Contractors will issue 48-hour notices to all affected residents prior to construction work.
