Proposal reference: BYL-156
We are going to install No stopping at all times restrictions (broken yellow lines) on Parr Terrace in Castor Bay.
Why the changes are needed
Parked cars are causing visibility and accessibility issues for residents and this proposal will help fix these issues.
The proposal received positive feedback with some concerns raised by respondents. After reviewing this feedback and all other supporting evidence, the proposal will proceed without changes to the next stage of detailed planning.
- Extend broken yellow lines to up to 88 Parr Terrace. We acknowledge that on-street parking is a valuable and shared community resource. Therefore its removal is only carried out where a significant safety or accessibility issue has been identified.
- Allow parking outside 90 and 92 Parr Terrace. Parking outside these properties creates visibility issues due to the bend. Amending the proposal to allow parking in these locations creates a safety hazard.
- Concerns that the issue will move further up the street. Vehicles parking further up the street do not create a visibility hazard.
- Request to install speed bumps. If you would like your request to be considered by AT for future development works, please provide feedback here.
We expect to introduce this work in the 2017/18 financial year, subject to any further changes in design or funding issues.
Contractors will issue 48-hour notice to all affected residents prior to construction work.
