Santiago Crescent, Unsworth Heights - No stopping at all times restrictions

Consultation status: closed 14 December 2016

We are looking to add No stopping at all times restrictions (broken yellow lines) around the bend outside 10-12 Santiago Crescent in Unsworth Heights.

Why changes are required

When cars are parked around this bend, drivers find it difficult to see incoming vehicles. No stopping at all times restrictions are being proposed to improve visibility around this corner.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.

The proposal received mixed feedback with some concerns raised by respondents. After reviewing this feedback and all other supporting evidence, the proposal will proceed without changes to the next stage of detailed planning.

Specific feedback and proposed solution

Concern that this proposal will not solve the problem further down the street and there should be speed humps installed to slow drivers instead. Vehicles parking too closely to the bend are causing visibility issues for motorists driving along Santiago Crescent. There isn’t any significant visibility or speed concerns for other sections of Santiago Crescent.

Next stage

We expect to introduce this work by June 2017, subject to any further changes in design or funding issues. Contractors will issue a 48-hour notice to all residents in the area prior to starting construction work.
