Consultation status: closed 16 December
We are proposing to make changes to the intersection of Canon Place and Ben Lomond Crescent in Pakuranga Heights.
- Adding a Give Way sign at the Canon Place and Ben Lomond Crescent intersection.
- Installing No Stopping at All Times restrictions (broken yellow lines) at this intersection.
- Painting a road centre line marking.
We have received feedback on high vehicle speed and visibility issues at this intersection. The proposed changes should help address these issues.

The proposal received mixed feedback, with some concerns raised by the public.
After reviewing the feedback and other supporting evidence, the length of the broken yellow lines will be reduced.
This proposal is not required as Canon Place is a quiet street without much congestion
The proposal will increase the visibility between drivers and pedestrians at this intersection and make it safer for all road users.
The proposed broken yellow lines are excessive
Based on this feedback we have reviewed the proposed broken yellow lines and have decided to reduce their length.
The new broken yellow line length means that only five parking spaces will be affected on the northern side of Canon Place (instead of nine) and two parking spaces on the southern side (instead of three).
Removing parking will affect businesses on Canon Place
The reduced length of the broken yellow lines will mean parking in the area is affected as little as possible, reducing the impact on businesses in the street.
We expect to start this work by June 2017, subject to any further design changes or funding issues.
