Jack Conway Ave and Ryan Pl, Manukau - parking changes

Consultation status: closed 30 October 2016

We have received a request from local businesses to look into the current parking situation in Jack Conway Avenue and Ryan Place in Manukau. This follows on from discussions with the Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board and Manukau Central Business Association about parking in the area.

Due to parking demand in the area, there has been an increase in congestion and illegal parking on these streets.

In 2015 we proposed to introduce a paid parking zone to the area, but did not proceed with the proposal after considering the feedback received at the time.

In order to address the ongoing issues we have developed a new set of proposals:

  • Installing parking time restrictions on just one side of the road in both Jack Conway Avenue and Ryan Place.
  • Installing P120 (two-hour time limit) parking on both roads that apply between 8am and 6pm from Monday to Friday.
  • Introduce two new P5 (five-minute time limit) loading zones that apply between 8am and 6pm from Monday to Sunday.
