Marco Polo Avenue, Lynfield - no stopping at all times restriction

Consultation status: closed 24 November 2016

We are seeking feedback on a proposal to add No Stopping at All Times restrictions (broken yellow lines) on Marco Polo Avenue in Lynfield.

This proposed change comes from concerns raised by the public about restricted vehicle access caused by cars parked between the traffic islands on Marco Polo Avenue.

Our site visits confirm that there is restricted vehicle accessibility and we are proposing broken yellow lines to improve accessibility

Thank you everyone for your feedback.

The proposal received positive feedback with some concerns raised by respondents. After reviewing this feedback and all other supporting evidence, the proposal will proceed without changes to the next stage of detailed planning.

Specific feedback and proposed solution

Request that the broken yellow lines be added on the curb side of the road in this area as not many people park at the location where the addition of broken yellow lines has been proposed.

Our recorded observations have confirmed that vehicles do park around the islands in the area. This proposal is consistent with restrictions in nearby cul-de-sacs that are currently operating effectively in the area.

Next stage

We expect to introduce this work by June 2017, subject to any further changes in design or funding issues. Contractors will issue a 48-hour notice to all residents in the area prior to starting construction work.
