The Rail and Maritime Trade Union (RMTU) has given notice of its intent to commence industrial action from Monday 26 February to Friday 16 March.

Auckland Transport and Transdev have developed a temporary timetable to minimise disruption and provide consistent rail services on these lines during this period.

Customers can expect Southern, Western and Eastern line weekday peak train services at 20-minute intervals, with inter-peak and off-peak services running as normal. Many trains on these services will run with six cars, which can hold 900 passengers, to help reduce impact.

Onehunga and Pukekohe weekday train services and weekend train services across all lines will remain on their usual timetable.

Ferry and bus services will operate as normal.

Big changes ahead for South Auckland bus services

From Sunday 30 October, all South Auckland bus services will change. There will be new bus routes, new timetables, more buses more often and for some people the need to transfer to a train to complete their journey.

More than 119,000 homes across South Auckland have now been mailed a bus information pack from Auckland Transport.

South Aucklanders are encouraged to familiarise themselves with their new bus route and timetable so they don’t miss the bus.

Auckland Transport are hosting a series of public information events. Visitors can talk to staff behind the changes, pick up extra timetables and get help planning their new travel journeys. Or they can use the online Journey Planner.
