Hop on the train or the bus to the Nines and Guns N Roses

Downer NRL Nines

One of Auckland’s biggest sporting events is back at Eden Park this Saturday and Sunday (4/5 February).

Travel on trains and special event buses is included with your pre-purchased game ticket. Tickets shown on your mobile device will also be accepted.

Last year two out of three people attending the Nines used public transport to get there.

Bus

Special event buses will operate to Eden Park from the Northern Busway stations, Manukau, Botany, Pakuranga, Newmarket and Mt Eden.

Saturday services to Eden Park start at 10.30am and operate every 15 minutes until 1pm or until the crowd has cleared. At the end of the day buses will leave Eden Park from 5.30pm to 8.30pm or until the crowd is cleared.

On Sunday services to the park operate from 9.30am to 11.30am and from Eden Park services start at 6.30pm.

All other bus services will be operating to their scheduled timetables and standard fares will apply.

Train

You can travel on the trains with your event ticket from three hours before kick-off, until the end of services for the day but remember to keep your game ticket for the ride home.

Please note balloons can’t be taken on trains or into stations due to the risk of them touching the overhead power lines.

Ferry

The Downtown Ferry Terminal is next to the Britomart Transport Centre and ferry passengers can easily change to a bus or train for transport to matches.

Cycling and Walking

Eden Park is only 4km from the city centre and there are cycle racks around the stadium.

Parking

Parking in the area is restricted during the event and there may be some road closures.

Guns N’ Roses

Travel on train and special event buses to the Guns N' Roses concert at Western Springs Stadium is included with your event ticket.  

Train 

Catch the train to Britomart train station, where you can connect to special event buses leaving from Quay St travelling direct to Western Springs. 


Bus
 

Special events buses will also depart from the Northern Busway Stations (excluding Hibiscus Coast) terminating in the city centre. 

From there please make your way to stop 7301 on Quay Street and board an event bus running direct to Western Springs Stadium. These services will run every 10 minutes between 4.30pm and 7.30pm. 

After the concert buses will leave from the temporary bus stop on Williamson Avenue between Great North Road and Dryden Street from the time the concert ends until midnight.
