Auckland Transport has announced the preferred tenderers for bus services in west Auckland.
Group Manager AT Metro Development Colin Homan says the tenders were called under the Public Transport Operating Model (PTOM).
“This is a new approach to planning and contracting public transport services to enable less reliance on public subsidy and to ensure services are procured effectively.”
Mr Homan says the process from here is to enter into negotiations with the preferred tenderers before finalising the offer.
The Units and preferred tenderers are:
- Unit 25 Titirangi (30 buses) - Ritchies Transport Holdings Ltd.
- Unit 27 Te Atatu (37 buses) – Pavlovich Coachlines Ltd.
- Unit 28 Ranui /Glen Eden (24 buses) – Pavlovich Coachlines Ltd.
- Unit 29 Hobsonville (9 buses) – Pavlovich Coachlines Ltd.
The current contracts for west Auckland are held by Ritchies Transport and NZ Bus.
The new contracts come into effect in May 2017 to coincide with the launch of the New Network in the west.
