Trains whistle in on time

Trains at Britomart stationThe New Zealand Herald today has highlighted improvements to Auckland rail services, which have helped Auckland train crews achieve record punctuality in a story headlined "Trains whistle into station on time".

The Herald story by reporter Mathew Dearnaley credits rail staff with "becoming ruthless with their whistles and no longer waiting for last minute runners" contributing to a report that 91.7 per cent of Transdev suburban rail services in January arrived at their destinations within five minutes of the scheduled arrival time.
