Accessible concession

If you hold a current Total Mobility ID card or Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind ID you are eligible for an accessible concession and a free AT HOP card.


What you need to know

  • You may only hold one AT HOP card with an accessible concession on it.
  • Accessible concessions are not available on NiteRider and SkyBus bus services.
  • ID required when travelling - when using public transport accessible card holders must have their current Total Mobility ID card or Royal Foundation of the Blind ID with them and present it on request to prove their eligibility for travel.
  • Your accessible concession will expire on the same date as your Total Mobility ID card or Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind ID.

Who can get an accessible concession

  • If you hold a current Total Mobility ID card you are eligible for an accessible concession and a free AT HOP card.
  • If you hold a current Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind ID you are eligible for an accessible concession and a free AT HOP card.

Who does not qualify

  • Any person without proof of their eligibility for travel. When using public transport accessible card holders must have their current Total Mobility ID card or Royal Foundation of the Blind ID with them and present it on request to prove their eligibility for travel.

What you need to know

  • If you hold a current Total Mobility ID card or Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind ID you are eligible for an accessible concession and a free AT HOP card.
  • Your AT HOP card needs to be registered before an accessible concession can be applied.
  • You may only hold one AT HOP card with an accessible concession on it.  
  • Your AT HOP accessible concession will expire on the same date as your Total Mobility ID card or Royal Foundation of the Blind ID.

Apply for an accessible concession and a free AT HOP card

By phone - Call (09) 366 4467 and provide your :

  • Name
  • Physical address
  • Contact phone number
  • Email address
  • Date of birth
  • RNZFB or Total Mobility card number and expiry date

By post - Print the form or call the AT HOP call centre on (09) 366 4467 and request that the form be posted to you. Complete and post back.

It may take up to 10 working days to receive your AT HOP card.

In person - Visit an AT customer service centre and complete the form, or simply provide your details and a staff member will complete it on your behalf.

How to renew your accessible concession

  1. Login and fill in the form to apply for a concession
    • Select the registered AT HOP card you want the accessible concession applied to, as you may only hold one AT HOP card with an accessible concession.  
    • Enter your Total Mobility ID card or Royal Foundation of the Blind ID number and expiry date and submit the form.
  2. Visit an AT customer services centre where you will need to show your current Total Mobiltiy ID card or Royal Foundation of the Blind ID and your AT HOP card to load your concession.

Renew accessible concession on your AT HOP card.
