Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park

Travel on public transport with family and friends for a magical night under the stars to the biggest free outdoor Christmas concert.

Please note: Auckland City Hospital and Starship Hospital are both open and operating as normal during Christmas in the Park, including the busy emergency departments.

If you are attending this event, please look out for ambulances and give them right of way, and help keep the entrances to the hospitals clear for patients, whānau, visitors and staff.

There is also a complete liquor ban in place for all public transport services as well as Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park, so please leave all alcoholic beverages at home.

Bus

Catching a bus is a convenient transport option for Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park. All scheduled services will be running to normal timetables.

Pre-plan your journey and travel early. Normal fares/passes apply.

Please note: Bus stop and road closures will be in place on Grafton Bridge, Park Rd and around Auckland Domain due to this event.

InnerLink

Catch the green InnerLink bus service which operates from Customs St to Parnell, through to Newmarket. Due to road closures for this event, the InnerLink will travel via Khyber Pass Rd to Symonds St instead of Park Rd and Grafton Bridge.

On Saturdays these services operate approximately every 15 minutes between 6.30am to 11.00pm. Find out more information about the InnerLink.

The closest stops to Auckland Domain will be at 470 Parnell Rd (stop 7196) when travelling on the InnerLink from Britomart (clockwise), or 493 Parnell Rd (stop 7195) when travelling on the InnerLink from Ponsonby/Karangahape Rd (anticlockwise) .

In addition to scheduled services, there are commercial bus services running to/from Auckland Domain. Event fares apply.

Northern Busway

Commercial buses depart from Albany Station (Platform 2B) approximately every 10 minutes between 4.30pm and 7pm, stopping at all Northern Busway stations to Auckland Domain. These services are operated by Ritchies Transport.

After the concert the special event bus service will depart from Auckland Domain and return to Albany station, stopping at all Northern Busway stations en route.

Child - $7 one way or $10 return
Family Pass - $25 return (for 1 adult and up to 3 children, or 2 adults and up to 2 children)
Children under 5 travel free

Birkenhead/Beach Haven

Services depart at 5.30pm from Verrans Road opposite Birkenhead Transport (stop 4134) and travel via the 973 route to the Domain. These services are operated by Birkenhead Transport.

Buses will depart from The Crescent, Auckland Domain after the event.

Children under 5 travel free

Bayview

Services depart at 5.30pm from 155 Spinella Drive (stop 3751) and travel via the 955 route to the Domain. These services are operated by Birkenhead Transport.

Buses will depart from The Crescent, Auckland Domain after the event.

Child - $5 one way or $8 return
Children under 5 travel free.

Howick

Bus will depart from Millhouse Dr at 4.45pm to Whitford Rd, Cook St, Minerva Tce, Paparoa Rd, Sandspit Rd then travel via the 550 route (Granger Rd by Howick Beach at approximately 5pm) servicing all stops to Pakuranga Plaza then direct to Auckland Domain. This service is operated by Howick and Eastern.

Buses will depart from The Crescent, Auckland Domain after the event.

Bucklands Beach

Bus will depart from Bucklands Beach Primary School at 4.45pm then via Pakuranga Plaza. This service will follow the 552 bus route until Pakuranga Town Centre, then direct to Auckland Domain. This service is operated by Howick and Eastern.

Buses will depart from The Crescent, Auckland Domain after the event.

Mission Heights/Botany Town Centre

Bus will depart from Mission Heights at 4.40pm following the 500 bus route. Arrives Botany Town Centre at approximately 5.05pm and then runs via all stops along Ti Rakau Dr to Pakuranga Plaza. This service is operated by Howick and Eastern.

Buses will depart from The Crescent, Auckland Domain after the event.

Special shuttle (end of the event only)

A special shuttle displaying "Special Event - Xmas in the Park to Britomart" will operate after the event from the Auckland Domain to Britomart.

The special shuttle service operates every 5-10 minutes from approximately 10.15pm to 11.30pm (or until the crowd is cleared), departing from stop 7197 at 545 Parnell Rd (next to the Parnell Library) and travel via Beach Rd, right Tangihua St, left Quay St, left Commerce St, left Customs St arriving at stop 7020 (32 Customs St East) in Britomart.

A one zone fare applies. Children under 5 travel free. This service is operated by NZ Bus.


 Train

When travelling by train to the Auckland Domain, the closest stations are; Newmarket Station for the Southern and Onehunga Lines, and Grafton Station for the Western Line. Those travelling on the Eastern Line will need to change trains at either Britomart or Otahuhu to a Southern Line train to Newmarket.

Additional trains will operate for this event to get you to Newmarket and/or Grafton Stations.

After the event, if you are travelling South please use Newmarket Station, if travelling West and to the city centre please use Grafton Station.

Ferry

The Downtown Ferry Terminal is next to the Britomart Transport Centre in Downtown Auckland. This means ferry passengers can easily change to a train or bus.

Normal fares/passes apply for ferry services.
Children under 5 travel free.

Terms and conditions

  • Normal fares will apply for all regular train, bus and ferry services.
  • The following fares (each way) apply for commercial registration bus services to Auckland Domain: H&E Bus Services (Route 50/522 and 500) All passenger $10.00 return. Ritchies bus services (Northern Busway Services direct to Auckland Domain) Adults $10.00 one way, $15.00 return and Children $7.00 one way, $10.00 return.  Family Passes $25.00 (1 adult and up to 3 children, or 2 adults and 2 children). Birkenhead Transport (Route 973 and Route 955 direct to Auckland Domain) Adults $8.00 one way, $12.00 return and Children $45.00 one way, $8.00 return).
