The World Rally Championship is returning to New Zealand after a 10 year absence. On Thursday 29 September, the Pukekawa Auckland Domain stage is free to attend, with the first cars going through at 6pm. The service park and rally village for the event will be setup on Hamer Street in Wynyard Quarter, a good chance for spectators to get an up close view of the cars and drivers.

Please allow extra time if travelling to Wynyard Quarter and Auckland Domain as delays are expected in the surrounding areas. Check Journey Planner for further details and to plan your trip in advance.


Train

Buses replace trains on Friday 30 September, Saturday 1 October and Sunday 2 October:

Friday 30 September:

  • Southern Line: Between Britomart and Otahuhu after 10pm
  • Onehunga Line: Between Newmarket and Onehunga after 10pm

Saturday 1 October:

  • Southern Line: Between Britomart and Otahuhu
  • Onehunga Line: Between Newmarket and Onehunga

Sunday 2 October:

  • Southern Line before 10:30pm: Between Britomart and Otahuhu
  • Onehunga Line before 10:30pm: Between Newmarket and Onehunga
  • Eastern Line after 10:30pm: Between Britomart and Otahuhu
  • Southern Line after 10:30pm: Between Britomart and Newmarket
  • Western Line after 10:30pm: Between Britomart and Newmarket

Bus

No special event event bus services are in operation for this event, regular scheduled services only.

Road closures will be in place for the event. Allow extra travel time as delays are expected.


Ferry

The Downtown Ferry Terminal is next to the Britomart Transport Centre in Downtown Auckland. This means ferry passengers can easily change to a bus or train heading towards Wynyard Quarter and Auckland Doman.

Normal fares/passes apply for ferry services.
