Adult fares
When paying with cash you need to pay individually for each bus and train trip. There are no individual bus or train trips longer than 5 zones.

Child fares
Children under 5 travel free when accompanied by a fare paying passenger.
Children 5-15 years of age are eligible for a child fare. Find out about child fare conditions for secondary students and applying for a child and student concessions on your AT HOP card.

AT HOP Child weekend fare
An AT HOP child weekend fare applies to journeys on weekends and public holidays when paying with an AT HOP card with a child concession applied. Make up to five bus or train trips over a four hour period, across any number of fare zones, with a maximum transfer time of 30 minutes between each trip.
Tertiary student fares
Tertiary students pay adult cash fare, unless they have a tertiary concession applied to their registered AT HOP card. Find out about travel conditions and applying for a tertiary concession on your AT HOP card.

Senior citizen and SuperGold card fares
Senior citizens are entitled to free travel with a valid AT HOP card with a SuperGold concession loaded (not available on SkyBus). Available after 9.00am weekdays and anytime on weekends and public holidays. For travel prior to 9.00am on weekdays, the relevant adult fares apply.
Senior citizens are also required to carry a valid SuperGold card or Auckland Transport approved senior citizen ID when they travel on public transport.
Senior citizens who do not have a valid AT HOP card with a SuperGold concession loaded will be expected to pay the relevant adult cash fare for all travel.
