Western and Southern line train services are moving to different platforms due to the ongoing redevelopment of Britomart, part of the City Rail Link project.
The City Rail Link (CRL) is a rail project currently under construction. It involves the building of a 3.45 km long tunnel underneath Auckland's city centre, between Britomart and Mt Eden stations.
Platform Changes are as follows:
From 16 January
Rail Line | Old Platform | New Platform |
Western Line | Platform 4 | Platform 5 |
Southern Line | Platform 2 | Platform 1 |
Note there are no changes to Eastern Line services, they will continue to run from Platform 3.
Changes from 27 March
Platform 3 will continue to be used by Eastern line services in peak times only and Onehunga line services during off-peak times during stage 2 of KiwiRail’s Rail Network Rebuild.
