Buses replace some trains for Auckland Anniversary Weekend Buses replace some trains for Auckland Anniversary Weekend

There are times when trains will not operate on the Auckland rail network due to maintenance, services will be replaced by a rail bus.


Line closure between Pukekohe and Papakura

Southern line

  • Trains will operate between Newmarket and Manukau. Buses will replace trains between Britomart and Newmarket and between Manukau and Pukekohe.

Onehunga line

  • Trains will operate between Newmarket and Onehunga Buses will replace trains between Britomart and Newmarket.

Western Line

  • Buses will replace trains between Swanson and Britomart.

Eastern line

  •  Trains will operate as normal.

Reason for line closure: Southern line between Wiri and  Pukekohe will be closed for track work and motorway widening, Newmarket to Britomart will be closed for The Strand crossover work and the Western Line is closed for level crossing work.


Replacement buses

Buses will be marked RAIL BUS. All valid tickets and passes currently accepted on trains will be accepted on rail bus replacements.

Please note: Buses cannot accommodate bikes, scooters or large personal items.
