Starting Sunday 5 July 2020, a new frequent bus service, route 64, will begin operating between Kingsland and Newmarket.
On Saturday 11 July 2020, the Mt Eden Station will close for approximately 4 years for its redevelopment. The closure will enable the Link Alliance to construct a new station building and rail tunnels to the city centre to complete the City Rail Link. The 64 bus service will offer a replacement public transport option for people travelling to and from Mt Eden Station when the station is closed. Find out more information on the Mt Eden Station redevelopment.
The new frequent route 64 will connect Newmarket, Grafton Station on Khyber Pass Road, Boston Road, Mt Eden Road between Boston Road and Valley Road to Kingsland.
The 64 will be free for the duration of the closure of Mt Eden Station but HOP card holders will still need to tag-on and tag-off.
The bus route will operate at least every 15 minutes between 7am and 7pm, 7 days a week. Outside of these times, it will operate between every 20 to 30 minutes.
