Greenlane station has now reopened.

A map of Auckland's eastern and southern lines during Stage 1 of the Rail Network Rebuild. Parnell, Newmarket, Remuera, Greenlane, Ellerslie, Penrose, Te Papapa, Onehunga, and Pukekohe stations are marked as closed. The Eastern line is shown as running during peak hours along the Southern Line from Britomart through Orakei, Meadowbank, Glen Innes, Panmure, Sylvia Park, and Otahuhu. There are four rail replacement buses marked on the map. The Onehunga to Newmarket Express (RBOX) is shown as running from Onehunga to Newmarket directly. The Onehunga to Otahuhu Connector (RBOC) is shown as running from Onehunga through Te Papapa and Penrose to Otahuhu. The Otahuhu to Newmarket service (RBS) is shown as running from Otahuhu through Penrose, Ellerslie, Greenlane, and Remuera to Newmarket. The Ellerslie to Britomart Express (RBSX) is shown as running from Ellerslie through Greenlane, Remuera, and Britomart at peak times only.

Greenlane station will be closed from 16 January 2023 until 19 March 2023.

  • The Southern Line will not be running between Ōtāhuhu and Newmarket.
  • The Onehunga Line will not be running between Onehunga and Newmarket. This is the entire Onehunga Line.

Travelling from Greenlane Station

If you're travelling from Greenlane Station, there are several ways you can get around.

Rail bus Southern Line (RBS)

The rail replacement bus stops at all stations between Ōtāhuhu and Newmarket:

  • Ōtāhuhu
  • Penrose
  • Ellerslie
  • Greenlane
  • Remuera
  • Newmarket.

Rail bus Southern Express (RBSX)

This is an express bus from Ellerslie to Britomart. It also stops at Greenlane and Remuera. 

The Southern Express does not stop at Newmarket.

The Southern Express only runs at peak times on weekdays.

Stop 7612, where buses replace trains to Onehunga and Otahuhu, is west of the station, by the intersection of Green Lane East and Great South Road. Stop 7613, where buses replace trains to Newmarket and Britomart, is by the intersection of Green Lane West and Great South Road, on the opposite side of Great South Road from stop 7612. Stop 8070 is on Green Lane West. Stop 8069 is on the opposite side of Green Lane West from stop 8070.
