The Rail and Maritime Trade Union (RMTU) has given notice of its intent to commence industrial action from Monday 26 February to Friday 16 March.

Auckland Transport and Transdev have developed a temporary timetable to minimise disruption and provide consistent rail services on these lines during this period.

Customers can expect Southern, Western and Eastern line weekday peak train services at 20-minute intervals, with inter-peak and off-peak services running as normal. Many trains on these services will run with six cars, which can hold 900 passengers, to help reduce impact.

Onehunga and Pukekohe weekday train services and weekend train services across all lines will remain on their usual timetable.

Ferry and bus services will operate as normal.

Learn bike skills free on the Lightpath Learn bike skills free on the Lightpath

A very special opportunity for adults to learn to ride a bike on Auckland's famously pink Te Ara i Whiti, the Lightpath. You don't even need to bring a bike!

Cyclists on the Lightpath

Date: Wednesday 28 February 2018.
Time: 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
Location: Te Ara i Whiti, the Lightpath.

Do you work or play around K Rd or the City and are keen on riding a bike? Want to learn to fix a flat? Mix the joy of learning with unique lighting and fabulous views over the city.

If you are new to riding, haven’t been on a bike for a while, or getting back into it but need a bit of a confidence boost, drop in any time 5.30pm to 7.30pm. This is also a great opportunity to introduce a friend to cycling during the 2018 Auckland Bike Challenge.

There will also be a mechanic to help with quick fixes and share their knowledge, so bring any questions you may have about how to keep your bike running smoothly through summer.

Drop in, learn some new skills, and enjoy pedaling on the gentle slopes of the Lightpath. We will have bikes to borrow if you don't have one. There's no need to book and bikes are available on a first come, first served basis.

We don’t want you to miss a moment of the fun, so it's best to be there at 5.30pm if you can.
