Auckland Walk Challenge Kick-off Event

AT will be hosting a Kick-Off Event as part of our Annual Walk Challenge. AT representatives will be on hand to get people signed up for the Auckland Walk Challenge. While there why not join us on a guided walk, led by Auckland Free Walking Tours, through Wynyard Quarter as we wade through our seafaring history and culture.

Go for a stroll Sundays

Breathe in fresh air and feel the sun on your back as you reconnect with nature. It's time to take a Sunday stroll and reset for the week ahead.

Motivational Monday

Word board.

You'll be moved in more ways than one when you wander the streets in search of street poetry. Come along and find all the motivation you need to start the working week. The poetry will be posted by 6am each Monday in various AT transit hubs.

What music gets you up and moving? Share your favourite walking tunes with us and be in to win your choice of an Apple Gift Card or a one-month Spotify Premium subscription.

Walk-it out at work Wednesdays

Walk-it out at work Wednesdays.

Did you know that adding just 2 minutes of walking for each hour of sitting during the day may increase your life expectancy? Find ways to insert more walking into your work day.

Each Wednesday AT will be hosting lunchtime walks, led by Auckland Free Walking Tours, around various parts of the city. Each walk will have a unique theme that aligns with the location of the walk. Space is limited and registration is required. Find out dates and locations of our Lunchtime Walks.

Turn-Up Thursdays

Turn-up Tuesday.

Thursday is the new Friday. Get prepped for the start of the weekend by joining us on a Silent Disco Citywalk Golden Hour Edition every Thursday in November. Led by Papaya Stories, Silent Disco Citywalks are uniquely programmed events that interweave storytelling, music and mindfulness for a group of people all sharing the same experience on wireless headphones.

Rock File Fridays

Painted rocks.

Time to throw on your private investigator hat and find the custom 2020 Walk Challenge painted rocks posted in various parts of Auckland. Rock into the weekend by guessing where the rocks will be placed today. Find the rocks (please don’t touch), share a photo and be entered in the chance to win a prize. Clues to the locations to be revealed via AT Facebook

Hit Your Stride Saturdays

How many steps can you hit today? Go for a long walk and explore the many walking paths that Auckland has to offer.

Join us for our longer distance walks (minimum of 2 hours) as we explore various parts of Auckland. Space is limited and registration is required for all events. Find out dates and locations of our Hit Your Stride Saturdays.

Silent Disco Citywalk Henderson Golden Hour
Come see Henderson in a new light in the Silent Disco Citywalk Henderson Edition. This FREE immersive walk shows off Henderson’s hidden gems, cultural and historic heritage and its fun public spaces and colourful Kakano murals. Space is limited and registration is required.
This event is fully booked and is postponed until Tuesday 1 December.

‘Kia Ora Avondale’ Walking Tour.
Join us on a walk exploring the connectivity between the New Lynn to Avondale Shared Path and the Te Whau Pathway. We’ll consider how these paths will open up new routes and parts of Avondale to visitors and locals alike. Space is limited and registration is required.

‘The Women of Karangahape Road’ Walking Tour

Māngere Mountain Morning Tramp. Let's get active Mangere 
You’ll be led on a loop walk in the Māngere Domain. This walk will take a maximum of 3 hours, moving at a steady pace, with plenty of stops for pictures. The walk will require you to be reasonably fit and wearing hiking boots or decent walking / gym shoes.
