Strike action scheduled for Monday 23 to Friday 27 April involving drivers for NZ Bus has been withdrawn by First Union and Tramways Union.

However, drivers will meet on Tuesday (24 April) to ratify the settlement to the dispute. This meeting means NZ Bus services will be cancelled after morning peak. Services on Tuesday will be disrupted between 9:30am and 2:30pm, some services immediately before or after this could also be affected.

Use the journey planner to plan an alternative trip, under advanced options select the service operator. Ensure Go West, Metrolink and North Star are not selected.

Bus services run by other operators are not affected and train and ferry services will run as usual on Tuesday.

Note: CityLink and InnerLink services will continue to operate during the disruption.

Cycling event - Try a bike afternoon

When and where

Date: Saturday, 21 April 2018.
Time: 2pm to 4pm.
Location: Wakatere Boating Club, Narrow Neck Beach.*

Fancy a new bike but don't know what to go for? Or interested in trying out an electric bike? Come along to our Try A Bike Afternoon on Saturday 21st April from 2pm - 4pm.

This is a perfect opportunity for those interested in riding more to test out a wide range of amazing bikes. Equally fun for those already enamoured with two wheels, wanting to share the joy or try a new ride, from vintage step throughs to cargo and ebikes. Bring a friend, enjoy an afternoon tea, and try some bikes out.

We are bringing a team of instructors along and they can give you tips and tricks to help you get riding as well as general cycling advice. There will also be a range of bike shop retailers and wholesalers with bikes (particularly electric bikes) for you to try out without the pressure of buying. Afternoon tea will also be provided.

* Note: Wakatere Boating Club is located at Narrow Neck Beach and on the Takapuna/Devonport bus route. If ferrying from town it is only a short bus trip from Devonport, or it's a short ride along a shared path.
