Oratia Stream shared path

The Oratia Stream shared path is one of the award-winning Twin Streams walk and cycleways developed by the former Waitakare City Council. It includes environmental, conservation and community initiatives aimed at protecting the area from floodwater coming down from the Waitakere Ranges.

The 3.6m-wide path can be easily accessed from Henderson town centre and starts at Millbrook Road Esplanade. From there, it weaves its way around the Milbrook Edible Garden – an organic garden where local residents are encouraged to grow their own vegetables. The path leads into Parrs Park, which features a skateboard ramp, basketball court and playground. A gentle and spacious path surrounds the sports field making it suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
