Cycle training courses are held all over Auckland in the next few months and cater for a range of levels.
Beginner bike training for adults
If you are new to riding, haven’t been on a bike for a while, or lack confidence, this session is for you.
Cycling on the road
For adults who can ride a bike in off-road environments, but want to learn the basics or be more comfortable riding on quieter roads.
Bike care and maintenance
Learn how to check your brakes, clean your bike, and fix a flat tyre, among other things.
Cycling training courses for kids
Kids Learn 2 Ride
Learning to ride a 2-wheeler is one of those big childhood milestones, and it's a thrill to be part of that experience as a parent.
At our Learn 2 Ride sessions, qualified instructors work alongside you to get your kids riding, whether they are starting on a balance bike or making the transition to pedals.
A limited number of bikes are available if your child doesn't have a bike yet.
Sessions are run on a drop-in basis and are weather dependent.
- Forrest Hill: 4 & 11 March, 10am to 12pm at Greville Reserve (off Forrest Hill Road).
- Mt. Roskill: 25 March & 1 April, 10am to 12pm at Turner Reserve (off Glynn Road).

The Auckland Bike Challenge is a fun, free, workplace competition where workplaces compete against each other to see who can get the most people riding bikes.
Now bigger and better as part of the nationwide ‘Aotearoa Bike Challenge’, businesses can compete on both local and national
Registrations are now open! Ride anywhere, anytime, during February for at least 10 minutes and log your trip online. You can also register as an individual.
There are great prizes to be won including a new bike, cakes from Little Bird Organics, vouchers for top Auckland restaurants, cycle gear – even a trip to Croatia!
The first 50 Auckland workplaces to register 10 or more new staff members will receive either a free standing foot pump or bike tools for their workplace.

This March, we're giving Aucklanders the opportunity to ‘virtually’ walk the length of New Zealand. Each day you simply plug in your steps or walking activity to make progress from Cape Reinga to Bluff.
This free and friendly walking challenge is open to teams of work colleagues, friends and families (Auckland residents only). There are awesome prizes on offer including two Fitbit Charges.
