  1. All information on how to enter and eligibility for prizes forms part of these terms and conditions.
  2. This document sets out the specific terms and conditions for the following promotions:
    • Safety Audit Promotion
    • Start a new Walking School Bus Promotion
    • Walking School Bus Themed Week Promotion
    • Refer a Friend Promotion
      (collectively referred to as 'Promotions')
  3. By entering any one of the promotions, entrants agree to be bound by the relevant promotions specific terms and conditions and the general terms applicable to all promotions set out in this document.
  4. Promotions run within the period from 7am, Monday 4 March 2019 to 10pm, Sunday 31 March 2019 ('Promotional Period').

Safety audit promotion

  1. Entry is open to Walking School Bus  volunteers registered with the Auckland Transport Walking School Bus programme who live in the Auckland Council region.
  2. During the Promotional Period only one entry is permitted per WSB route. Duplicate entries will be removed from the prize draw.
  3. To enter the promotion submit your completed Walking School Bus safety audit form to WalkingSchoolBus@at.govt.nz or online at AT.govt.nz/walkingschoolbus during the Promotional Period. The Walking School Bus safety audit forms can be found at AT.govt.nz/walkingschoolbus.
  4. Entries received after 10pm, Sunday 31 March 2019 are invalid.
  5. There are four prizes  in total to be won. Each prize consists of 1 x $100 New World Voucher.
  6. The prize draw will take place at 10am, 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue, Auckland Central on Tuesday 2 April 2019. The winners will be drawn at random from all eligible entries received during the Promotional Period, following which the winners will be contacted using contact information provided at time of entry. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of the winner's identity before sending the prize.

'Start a new Walking School Bus' promotion

  1. Entry is open to people 20 year's of age or over as of 1 March 2019 who live in the Auckland Council region.
  2. During the Promotional Period only one entry is permitted per new Walking School Bus route. Duplicate entries will be removed from the prize draw.
  3. To enter the promotion start a new Walking School Bus during the Promotional Period consisting of at least three primary school children and one adult. The Walking School Bus ratio is 1 adult to 8 children. Pre-school children who are walking are included in the ratio; pre-school children in pushchairs are not. Submit a description of the new Walking School Bus route by email to WalkingSchoolBus@at.govt.nz including the following information:
    1. The words "New Walking School Bus" in email subject header.
    2. The name of the school and the route of the new Walking School Bus.
    3. The number of volunteers and children on the Walking School Bus.
    4. The day(s) and time(s) the Walking School Bus will walk.
    5. Your name, address, email and phone number.
  4. Entries received after 10pm, Sunday 31 March 2019 are invalid.
  5. There is one prize  in total to be won. The prize is 1 x night accommodation and breakfast for 2 x people at the Grand Mercure, 8 Customs Street East, Auckland (prize valued at $400).
  6. The prize draw will take place on at 10am, 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue, Auckland Central on Tuesday 2 April 2019. The winners will be drawn at random from all eligible entries received during the Promotional Period, following which the winners will be contacted using contact information provided at time of entry. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of the winner's identity before sending the prize.

'Walking School Bus Themed Week' promotion

  1. Entry is open to volunteers and parents involved with the Auckland Transport Walking School Bus programme who live in the Auckland Council region and have an active Facebook account.
  2. The Promotion is in no way sponsored, administered, endorsed or otherwise associated with Facebook.
  3. To enter the promotion, Walking School Bus volunteers and parents must comment on the weekly themed competition post in their closed regional Walking School Bus Month Facebook Group, including a photo, a short caption, the school name and Walking School Bus name.
  4. The Themed Week Promotion are limited to one entry per person per day. Any duplicate entries will be removed from the draw.
  5. There are 4 x prizes per week to be won consisting of:
    • 4-8 March: 1 x $100 Prezzy card.
    • 11-15 March: 1 x Auckland Zoo Family Pass.
    • 18-22 March: 1 x Maritime Museum Family Pass.
    • 25-29 March: 1 x Event Family Movie Pass (10 x tickets included).
  6. The weekly prize draw will take place at 10am the following Tuesday of the relevant week at Auckland Transport, 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue, Auckland Central between Tuesday 12 March and Tuesday 2 April 2019. The winner of each draw, will be drawn at random from all eligible entries received for the relevant week during the Promotional Period. The winners will be notified by Auckland Transport by commenting on their photo on Facebook, asking the winner to send a private message to arrange a meeting for the personal delivery of the prize. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of the winner's identity before delivering the prize.

'Refer a Friend' promotion

  1. Entry is open to Walking School Bus volunteers registered with the Auckland Transport Walking School Bus programme who live in the Auckland Council region.
  2. To enter the promotion a Walking School Bus volunteer or lead teacher can refer a friend to start a Walking School Bus. The walking school bus must be registered with Auckland Transport by the 31 March 2019.
  3. Submit a description of the new Walking School Bus route by email to, WalkingSchoolBus@at.govt.nz, including the following information:
    1. The person you are referring, their name, address, email and phone number.
    2. The words "Refer a Friend" in email subject header.
    3. The name of your friend's school.
    4. Your name, address, email and phone number.
  4. There are four prizes in total to be won. Each prize consists of 1 x $100 Prezzy Card.
  5. The prize draw will take place at 10am, 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue, Auckland Central on Tuesday 2 April 2019. The winners will be drawn at random from all eligible entries received during the Promotional Period, following which the winners will be contacted using contact information provided at time of entry. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of the winner's identity before sending the prizes.

General terms and conditions (applicable to all promotions)

  1. The promoter is Auckland Transport, 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue, Auckland Central, Private Bag 92250, Auckland 1142 ("Promoter").
  2. Entries for the Promotions, which include partial information, or are submitted by or through dishonest means, fraud or other illegal activity, or entries not complying with these terms and conditions, are invalid.
  3. If the winner does not wish to accept a prize  or if contact cannot be made with the winner within 3 days of the prize draw, the winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize and a new winner will be drawn by the Promoter. Confirmation that the prize draw has been completed will be notified on the Promoter's website at AT.govt.nz/walkingschoolbus.
  4. Any expenses (including but not limited to travel, accommodation, food and beverage) incurred in relation to accepting or using the Prize is the responsibility of the winner.
  5. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  6. Employees and family members of the Promoter are not able to enter the Promotions.
  7. If the advertised prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal or greater value and/or specification. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
  8. Any expenses (including but not limited to travel, accommodation, food and beverage) incurred in relation to accepting or using a prize is the responsibility of the winner.
  9. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter and its associated agencies are not liable in any way (including, without limitation, in negligence) for any loss, damage or injury (including indirect and consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with participation in the Promotions or the use of the prize.
  10. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify a consumer's rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. These terms and conditions must be read subject to those statutory provisions and will not affect any statutory rights that an entrant may have in relation to the return of a prize.
  11. The Promoter, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel, suspend, terminate or modify the Promotions or any part of the Promotions if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond the Promoter's reasonable control adversely affects the Promoter's ability to conduct the Promotions or part of the Promotions as contemplated in these terms and conditions. Any cancellation or modification to the Promotions will be notified on the Promoter's website at AT.govt.nz/walkingschoolbus.
  12. The Promoter takes no responsibility for lost, damaged, misdirected, late, illegible or incomplete registrations or entries, incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures, failures of computer equipment or software, inability to access telecommunications network services, corruption of any format holding an entry, failure of the winner to collect the prize or any other error or malfunction.
  13. The Promoter receives and holds personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy which can be found at https://at.govt.nz/about-us/about-this-site/privacy-policy including the name of the entrants for the purposes of running this Promotions. All personal information provided by entrants will be held by the Promoter at 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue, Auckland Central. Under the Privacy Act 1993 entrants have the right to access and correct their personal information.
  14. The Promoter's decisions on all matters relating to the Promotions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
