Free travel to your vaccination Free travel to your vaccination

To help you get to any COVID-19 vaccination clinic, you can travel for free on buses and trains.

‘Free travel’ is a return journey to and from any vaccination or pop-up clinic using AT Metro buses and trains for both your first and second COVID-19 vaccinations. You do not need to tag on with an AT HOP card.

Follow these steps to travel for free

  1. Let the bus driver/gate-line staff/Transport Officer know that you are travelling to get a vaccination.
  2. Scan the QR code on-board, as well as at train stations and bus stops using the NZ COVID Tracer app.
  3. Wear a face covering on-board and maintain physical distancing.
  4. Remember NOT to tag on using your AT HOP card as travel is being provided free of cost.

As always, the safety of our staff and customers is a top priority. All public transport services are cleaned regularly and thoroughly.

Learn more about using public transport on our COVID-19 information page.
