The transformation of Downtown Auckland is underway, creating a welcoming destination along the water’s edge that is recognisably Tāmaki Makaurau.

We’re caring for Quay Street’s pōhutukawa, relocating them to nearby Teal Park, before construction gets underway. Once the enhancement is complete, they’ll be returned, along with new trees and raingardens to green the street.

This is one of Auckland’s biggest projects. In just two years Downtown will look dramatically different – a vibrant, transformed environment for all to enjoy.

Auckland Transport (AT) has appointed a joint venture group to deliver early works for the programme to transform Downtown Auckland. The joint venture group comprises Downer NZ Limited, HEB Construction Limited and Soletanche Bachy International (NZ) Limited.
