Hibiscus Coast Bus Station Hibiscus Coast Bus Station

Auckland Transport began constructing a new bus station for Hibiscus Coast in October 2019.

Project status: Construction
Project zone: North

Project overview

The Hibiscus Coast Bus Station is being developed in 3 stages:

Stage 1 & 2 - completed

The first and second stages involved the construction of all civil work excluding the station building:

  • Earthworks to bring the site to level for the parking and station building areas, and a stormwater pond.
  • Formation of bus circulation area and car park (481 consented car parks plus 127 car parks subject to resource consent approval).
  • Construction of a retaining wall along Painton Road.
  • Stormwater and sewer pipe works.
  • Street lighting, CCTV and data installation.
  • Secure cycle parking.

Stage 3 - under construction

The third stage of the project is the construction of the station building. Once completed, the station will feature a retail kiosk, ticket and AT HOP top-up machines and waiting areas which will be well lit and protected from the elements.

There will also be an additional 90 car park spaces added to the 516 already available. A minor re-configuration of traffic lanes at the intersection with Hibiscus Highway and Painton Road will also be made to better allow for the movement of buses into and out of the station

Bus station construction timeframe

  • October 2019 to early 2021.

Local bus services

We encourage people to use the bus services: 128, 981, 982, 983, 984, 985, 986 and 995 for travel to and from the bus station.. To find, plan and track your journeys, download the AT Mobile app to your phone, or use our journey planner, or check timetables to find bus services.

The car park is open 24 hours a day with 516 spaces available to people using the bus service. If you are unable to use the local bus connectors and parking space is unavailable, you can access temporary parking at the site of the former Nippon Judo Club – it is only a short walk away.
