Papakura lift shaft improvements updates Papakura lift shaft improvements updates
2020
25 August
On Monday, 24 August, the work to improve the reliability of the lifts at Papakura Station has moved into its next phase.
To allow work on the lift accessing platforms 1 and 2 to start, a scaffold platform will be constructed around this lift shaft and finished on Wednesday 26 August.
As a consequence, the lift on platform 1 and 2 will be out of service during the hours of 7am to 5pm on these days.
We have brought this work forward to take advantage of the reduced patronage on our trains as a result of the COVID-19 Alert Level 3.
Following this, construction work will continue for an estimated five weeks from Monday, 31 August. This work will result in intermittent lift outages. The stairs adjacent to the lift will remain open as usual.
For passengers who must use the lift to or from platform 1 and 2, a free taxi shuttle service will be available between Papakura and Takanini stations, and back, during these outages.
Customers should speak to station staff or train crew to arrange this free shuttle service.
Please allow additional time for your journey if necessary.
If you have any questions, please speak to a member of staff or contact Auckland Transport on 09 355 3553.
