Glenvar Road, Torbay
3 May 2023
- We are currently finalising our design and plan to begin work onsite in mid-May.
- Weather permitting, we expect Glenvar Road to be open by the end of November, in time for summer.
- Please do not cross the barriers – it is not safe to walk or cycle on the closed section of the road.
- You’ll find more information and updates at Glenvar Road Flood Repairs (at.govt.nz).
- Road status: Closed in both directions between East Coast Road and Fitzwilliam Drive.

- Geotechnical testing is complete, and our contractor Fulton Hogan is now working on the final designs and specifications.
- We’re currently working with Vector to find the best solution for the location of power lines.

Paremoremo Road, Paremoremo

- Weather, permitting we’ll be starting the first of four new retaining walls on 8 May
- We expect all repairs to be complete by mid-2024

- We are currently undertaking geotechnical testing and initial designs to build several retaining walls to support the road where slips have occurred
- We will begin works in early 2024 and expect to be finished by Mid 2024
- Road status: One lane open
Twin Wharf Road, Herald Island

- We are currently undertaking geotechnical testing and initial designs to build a new retaining wall to replace the previous wall that has collapsed.
- We plan to begin construction in early 2024 and, weather permitting expect to be finished by mid 2024.
