Auckland Transport is constructing a new park and ride at Warkworth on behalf of the Rodney Local Board.
Project overview
The Warkworth Park and Ride at 80 Great North Road, Warkworth, is a priority project funded by the Rodney Transport Targeted Rate.
It will feature the following elements
- 137 car parks including 15 short term and four accessible parking
- a bus layover
- two bus stops
- footpaths
- a signalised pedestrian crossing across Great North Road
- two toilet blocks
- bike parking
- lighting
- CCTV
Construction timeframe
- June 2021 to early 2022
Project Cost
- The project will cost $3.7 million to construct and this include costs associated with design, land and construction.

Parking
The hub car park will be open 24 hours a day with 137 car parks including 15 short term and four accessible parking for people using bus services.
Rodney Transport Targeted Rate
The Rodney Transport Targeted Rate was introduced by Auckland Council in 2018 after extensive community consultation. The $150 per annum rateable property charge is projected to raise $41 million over ten years to pay for new bus services and bus stops, park and ride facilities and footpaths.
