About

Leadership is about everyone — students, teachers, parents, and whānau working together to promote safe, active travel.

When schools champion Travelwise initiatives, it fosters shared responsibility and empowers students to drive change. Setting a positive example inspires participation and leads to safer, smarter travel choices.

Learning Opportunities

One of the key parts of a successful Travelwise Schools Programme is developing your Safe School Travel Plan. This sets the groundwork for the good mahi that follows. Working through the Travelwise leadership area you'll:

  • build a Travelwise team and set the vision for your school
  • set up for success and be ready to keep up that momentum
  • create a sense of empowerment and ownership
  • develop responsibility and citizenship values.
