About WoW - Walking or Wheeling
Walking or wheeling (biking, scootering or skating) to school has multiple benefits. These include better student health and wellbeing, reduced traffic congestion and positive environmental impacts.
Learning opportunities
We want students to be happy and confident walking, biking or scootering to school. This helps inspire others — fostering an active travel culture throughout the school community.
The initiatives within this pillar will support students to:
- understand the benefits of walking or wheeling to school
- develop the skills and confidence needed to walk or wheel to school
- learn to share the road respectfully — applying manaakitanga (showing respect, generosity and care for others).
