Ticketless car parks

Car parks that use licence plate recognition are ticketless. The system reads your number plate and records what time you enter the car park. It then helps calculate the correct amount to pay when you are ready to leave.

  • Downtown car park
  • Ronwood Avenue car park
  • Toka Puia car park
  • Victoria Street car park

Ways to pay

You can pay using the payment machines or AT Park.

Payment machines

The payment machines in the car park accept EFTPOS, credit and debit cards — including payWave and PayPass. You'll need to enter your number plate details to pay.

  • If you can't remember your number plate, take a photo of it so you have it with you when it's time to pay
AT Park

If using the AT Park app you don't need to do anything when you enter a ticketless car park. When you’re ready to leave, enter the car park area ID and confirm payment.

If using the payment machines, pay before returning to your vehicle. This can help avoid queues of cars at the exit. Once you've paid, you have 15 minutes to drive out the exit.

If you use the AT Park app, there's no need to line up at the payment machines.

Entering and exiting a ticketless car park

When you enter

  1. Drive into the entrance, slow or stop in front of the barrier arm.
  2. The camera will read your number plate, record the time of entry and the barrier arm will open.
  3. You won't be issued a ticket — unless the camera cannot read your number plate.
  4. Drive in and park.

If the camera cannot read your number plate

The sign will tell you to take a ticket from the machine. Keep the ticket with you — you'll use it to pay when you're ready to leave. Take the ticket to pay at a payment machine. Do this before you return to your vehicle.

When you exit

  1. You need to pay for your parking before exiting — using the AT Park app or machines in the car park.
  2. Once payment is successful you have 15 minutes to drive out the exit.
  3. Approach the exit barrier arm, the camera will read your plate number.
  4. If you have paid, the barrier arm will open for you to drive out.

To access your car after hours contact Armourguard on 0800 900 015. You will need to pay a release fee additional to your parking fee.
