Getting started

  1. Take a look at the Ready Steady Go! Teacher handbook. It includes the whole programme, including all lesson plans, from start to finish.
  2. Download and print the lesson plans and student activity sheets on this page for each lesson individually OR download and print a student handbook for each student. The student handbook includes all activity sheets in one place.
  3. Prefer to use an online student workbook in class? Access the Google Docs version. Select USE TEMPLATE (in the top right hand corner) to save it to your school’s google drive, so that you can share it with your students from there. Your students can then complete their own workbook in class and save their work as usual. Please note that there are three hands-on creative activities that your students won’t be able to complete online, these are:
    • Activity 5.2 Design a badge or sticker
    • Activity 6.2 Make a clean, green community
    • Activity 9.1 Make a booklet and share your knowledge
  4. Your Community Transport Coordinator will arrange the delivery to your school of two special resources. These are the giant jigsaw puzzle (lessons 1 and 3) and the How far can you go? poster map of Aotearoa NZ (lesson 2). They will also supply printed certificates for all students who take part.
  5. Book the date for your Wheels Day (Lesson 8) with your Community Transport Coordinator. They'll be able to help you with planning and running the day.
