To improve bus services in Point Chevalier, we’re going to add 2 bus layover spaces to the Parr Road North car park.

Driving and busOverview
As we run buses more frequently and later into the evening, we need a place they can park between services. This is called a bus layover.
Within Parr Road North car park we will:
- install 2 bus layover spaces for buses to park between services
- create a one-way system and make other road marking and signage changes so that buses and cars can circulate safely
- install a loading zone near the rear entrance to Daily Bread
- upgrade car park lighting
- install 2 mobility parking spaces
- install a speed bump.
On Parr Road North we will:
- install 2 bus stops
- install no stopping lines.
On Great North Road we will install ‘KEEP CLEAR’ marking across the intersection with Parr Road North so that buses can enter and exit.
To enable these changes, we will repurpose 11 parking spaces within Parr Road North car park and 7 parking spaces on Parr Road North.
Construction will start mid-2026.
