Types of permits

There are 2 types of permits you can apply for. Both are recognised nationwide. Eligible customers can apply for a:

• Mobility Parking Permit from CCS Disability Action
• Disability Parking Permit from Sommerville Disability Support Services.

Permits can be issued for short-term, long-term or permanent disabilities. Eligibility will need to be confirmed by a medical practitioner.

How to apply

Parking benefits for permit holders

Parking benefits depend on the type of parking area. Different allowances apply for on or off-street car parks or car park buildings. In general permit holders can:

• use reserved mobility parking spaces
• park longer than the time limit in some parking spaces.

Total Mobility scheme

For people with impairments, the Total Mobility Scheme offers:

• a subsidised rate to use participating taxis
• concessions for travel on AT public transport services.
