How the mobility e-permit works

Mobility e-permits will be available from Monday 10 August 2026.

You can park with confidence when you're entitled to extra time. Your vehicle is recognised automatically.

When you apply for a mobility e-permit, your mobility parking permit is securely linked to your vehicle’s number plate.

This helps our parking systems, including camera cars, know when a vehicle should get mobility parking concessions. Since the system has the right information upfront, it lowers the likelihood of misunderstandings or incorrect fines.

You must still display your physical mobility parking permit whenever you park.

You can also swap your vehicle number in the app.

Cost and eligibility

A mobility e-permit is free and optional. If you use extra on-street parking time, it helps make sure your vehicle is recognised.

You must already have a valid physical mobility parking permit to apply for an e-permit.

Benefits of a mobility e-permit

Drivers with registered mobility e-permits get the same benefits that they have with a mobility permit without getting an incorrect fine. You can:

  • park for up to double the time shown on parking signs in eligible on street spaces
  • get an extra hour of free parking on top of the paid time in some places.

These benefits apply to:

  • on-street timed parking areas
  • on street paid parking areas
  • locations where payment is made via pay by plate machines or AT Park.

About camera cars

Camera cars help us monitor on street parking efficiently across Auckland.

Mobility e-permit help these systems know when your vehicle should get mobility parking concessions. While the e-permit greatly lowers the chance of an incorrect fine, it’s important to always:

  • display your mobility parking permit
  • park in the right spaces and follow signage.

If a fine is wrongly issued, you can dispute the infringement.

How to apply (2 steps)

You’ll need:

  • a MyAT account
  • an AT Park account
  • a current mobility parking permit
  • a credit or debit card (used if you pay for parking via AT Park).

  2. Once logged in, select ‘Parking’ on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. Select ‘Parking permits’.
