Group bookings are available to all schools, institutions and organisations wishing to travel by ferry.
Please note that group bookings exclude Waiheke and Rakino Island ferries and private charter bookings.
Group bookings are only available on AT-operated ferry services run by:
- Fullers360
- BelAir
- Sealink
- Explorer
If you’re travelling on a weekday, we recommend choosing a time between 9am and 3pm, to avoid commuter traffic.
For bookings of 25 or more, we’ll check with the ferry operator first to ensure there’s enough space for your group on your chosen service/vessel.

How to book
We require a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice, but you can book up to 90 days in advance of your travel date.
Please email groupferrybooking@at.govt.nz with the following information:
- Date of group booking
- Will you be travelling one-way or return?
- Departure time
- Time of return journey
- Port you’re travelling from
- Port you’re travelling to
- Number of people travelling and their age groups, for example, 20 children* and 30 adults
- Any customers with accessible needs
- Name of school, institution or organisation
- Booking contact person’s name, phone number and email
- Mailing address of the organisation.

* Children are passengers 5 to 15 years old. Children under 5 travel for free when accompanied by a paying passenger.
