What it is
Delivered by a School Travel Coordinator, this workshop introduces student leaders to the Travelwise programme and its key focus areas — active transport and road safety.
Students explore what makes an effective leader and reflect on their own leadership strengths and styles. The range of Travelwise initiatives available to the school is shared, before students take part in a whole‑group brainstorm to identify and prioritise initiatives for the year ahead.
Aim
To develop student leaders' skills and build relationships with the School Travel Coordinator, helping them feel confident to lead and support Travelwise initiatives within their school.
Learning opportunities
The workshop builds leadership capability, self-reflection and confidence.
Students develop communication and collaboration skills as they share ideas, listen to others, and contribute to group decision making.
