Overview

As part of our Road Safety Programme, we’re planning safety improvements at the intersection of Clark Road and Squadron Drive in Hobsonville.

This is a busy intersection with a history of turning-related crashes, limited safe crossing options, and a strong call from the community for better safety.

Our improvements aim to make walking, cycling and driving safer, helping everyone get where they need to go, and home again, safely.

The changes include:

  • installing a fully mountable roundabout
  • new zebra crossings on all approaches
  • new pram ramps and tactile pavers
  • cycle ramps with green surfacing
  • new kerbline with short sections of new footpath
  • upgraded lighting
  • vegetation trimming to improve sightlines.

This work is coordinated with the upcoming Clark Road shared path upgrade.

Safer for everyone

The new roundabout helps reduce crashes and near misses by slowing vehicles moving through the intersection.
