Cascades Road, Pakuranga

Walking

Overview

There is currently a gap in the footpath along Cascades Road outside Pakuranga Golf Club. The existing footpath ends at the bus stop opposite 1 Bernie Edwards Place, leaving pedestrians without a dedicated path for the remainder of this stretch.

This project will fill that gap and provide a connected, accessible walking route.

To improve walking connections along Cascades Road, we're proposing to:

  • build a new footpath along Cascades Road outside Pakuranga Golf Club, connecting the existing path from the bus stop opposite Bernie Edwards Place (ID 1925) to the bridge past Lochend Place
  • rebuild a new pram crossing
  • install tactile pavers at bus stops and pram crossings to help pedestrians with visual impairments.

Community feedback

After carefully reviewing the feedback from the community, we have decided to go ahead as proposed.

We expect construction to take place this financial year. We will be in touch with affected businesses and residents before any works take place.

For more details regarding the engagement and feedback, view our engagement summary (PDF, 63KB).
