Overview

We're planning to install broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) between numbers 4 and 6 Mount St John Avenue to improve driveway access and support safer parking behaviour.

We've received concerns about vehicles parking near the narrow grass berm between these two properties. This can make it difficult for residents to access their driveways.

While parking enforcement has visited the area in the past and issued infringement notices (fines), this issue continues to happen.

The proposed broken yellow lines will formalise an existing parking restriction. It will make it clearer where parking is not allowed. Since parking within one metre of a driveway is already not allowed, this proposal will not remove any existing legal parking spaces.

The changes will help keep driveways clear, improve access to properties, and make parking restrictions easier for drivers to understand.

Project benefits

Improved property access

Installing broken yellow lines between properties 4 and 6 Mount St John Avenue will help keep driveways clear and make it easier for residents to access their properties.

Clearer parking restrictions

Formalising the existing parking restriction will make it clearer where parking is not permitted, helping drivers park correctly and reducing instances of driveway obstruction.

Improved safety

Keeping the area around driveways clear will improve visibility and access for all road users, creating a safer environment for residents, visitors and service vehicles.
