Parking around Maungawhau Station

We’re planning changes to make sure there is parking for visitors, local businesses and customers, while discouraging all-day commuter parking.

There is currently paid parking from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm in the streets around the proposal area. We plan to keep the same days and hours in the streets near the station.

The price would also be the same:

• $1 per hour for the first 2 hours
• $2 per hour thereafter.

Managing parking through time restrictions and pricing values our precious road space. It also makes sure those using the parking space pay a small share of the costs.

The plan aligns with Room to Move: Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s Parking Strategy. We manage parking demand through time limits and paid parking initiatives.
